Home Learning

During the period of school closure, we want to support our students to continue with their learning.  We recognise that online learning is no substitute for being in a classroom with a teacher.  For this reason, the learning tasks and activities that teachers set will revisit, support and enhance the curriculum rather than trying to replace what students would have been learning if school was operating normally.

Students typically will be set work in each subject for a week or two at a time.  They should spend about the same amount of time on the work as they would spend in the lessons for each subject.  Some students may benefit from the structure of following their normal school timetable each day.  However, there should be flexibility to plan time in various ways to suit individual preferences.

Most importantly, please remember that the staff are here for you, whether that is academically or pastorally.  As ever, please do make contact with your child’s tutor or class teachers if you or your child(ren) need support.  School reception is open every day between 9am and 3pm should you want to speak to someone.

Accessing the work

All home learning tasks will be set using Show My Homework.

In the first two weeks of the school shutdown, 97% of our students successfully accessed learning tasks on Show My Homework.

Here are some useful guides to using Show My Homework successfully:
