Art & Photography

Faculty Leader: Mrs R Christian

Art and Photography at Frogmore:

Art and photography allow students to investigate their senses to create responses to the visual world.

Students develop critical thinking skills, the ability to take calculated risks and aesthetic awareness.

Art and photography give students confidence and stimulate creativity and imagination.

The Curriculum at Key Stage 3 – summary paragraph:

One of the main objectives of education should be teaching pupils how to learn and so open the door to the pleasures of knowledge

Sir John Harvey Jones

In Key Stage 3, students learn to master a broad range of skills in order to express their own creativity.

The curriculum provides a firm foundation for those who wish to progress to GCSE in art or photography.

The Curriculum at Key Stage 4:

Art and design is not just a subject to learn, but an activity that you can practise: with your hands, your eyes, and your whole personality.

Quentin Blake

Art and design as well as photography are offered at GCSE.

Both subjects are very popular and students commit themselves to producing outstanding individual and creative work year on year.

Our annual exhibition is a great celebration of the work that students produce.
