Centre Assessed Grades 2021

Following the decision by the government in January 2021 to cancel public examinations this summer, we have worked to put in place robust arrangements for awarding centre assessed grades.  Teachers will use a range of evidence in order to determine a fair grade for every student.  These grades will be subject to thorough quality assurance processes so that students, parents, colleges and employers can all have a high degree of confidence in the outcomes.

Ofqual and the DfE refer to these grades as teacher assessed grades.  We have used the term Centre Assessed Grades to reflect the collective responsibility we are taking as a centre to assure the reliability of every grade awarded.  For the purposes of our policy and practice, the two terms mean the same thing.
